दहिसर ते मुंबई… आणि ट्रॅफिकने त्रस्त उपमहापौर!
मुंबईतील वाहतूक कोंडीचा फटका आता सर्वसामान्य नागरिकांपुरता मर्यादित राहिलेला नाही. मुंबई महानगरपालिकेचे उपमहापौर संजय घाडी यांनीही या समस्येबाबत थेट पालिका आयुक्तांना पत्र लिहिले आहे.
दहिसरहून दररोज मुंबईतील विविध बैठका, कार्यक्रम आणि पालिकेच्या कामांसाठी प्रवास करताना प्रचंड वेळ वाहतूक कोंडीत वाया जात असल्याचे त्यांनी पत्रात नमूद केले आहे. या दैनंदिन प्रवासामुळे प्रशासकीय कामकाजावरही परिणाम होत असल्याचे सांगत, अधिक कार्यक्षमतेने जबाबदाऱ्या पार पाडण्यासाठी मुंबई शहरात महापालिकेचा अधिकृत बंगला किंवा शासकीय निवास उपलब्ध करून देण्याची मागणी त्यांनी केली आहे.
या पत्रानंतर मुंबईतील वाहतूक कोंडीचा मुद्दा पुन्हा चर्चेत आला आहे. सर्वसामान्य नागरिक अनेक वर्षांपासून याच समस्येचा सामना करत आहेत. आता उपमहापौरांनाही त्याचा अनुभव आल्याने, या प्रश्नावर अधिक गांभीर्याने उपाययोजना होतील का, हा प्रश्न उपस्थित केला जात आहे.

Mumbai’s notorious traffic congestion has now become an issue even for the city’s Deputy Mayor. Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi has reportedly written to the Municipal Commissioner, requesting an official bungalow in Mumbai to reduce his daily commute from Dahisar.
In his letter, Ghadi stated that traveling from Dahisar to various meetings, official events, and civic engagements across Mumbai consumes several hours each day due to heavy traffic. He argued that the long commute affects both his time and administrative efficiency, and requested official accommodation within the city to enable him to perform his duties more effectively.
The letter has reignited debate over Mumbai’s chronic traffic congestion. While millions of Mumbaikars have been dealing with long and exhausting commutes for years, the Deputy Mayor’s request has once again brought the issue into the spotlight, raising questions about whether the city’s traffic problems will now receive greater attention.
